Supporting Laura & Family through a sad diagnosis

My goal is $2500 to get me up to date on everything, and help me keep the love of my life alive.

Hi, my name is Laura, and let me tell you about the year we've had in the Santangelo house.

In March 2023, my husband of 30+ years, Vincent was diagnosed with the largest bladder tumor the surgeon had ever seen. They biopsied it, and unfortunately, it came back as cancer. He also had kidney failure, as well as a heart condition that left him 48 hours from death. Luckily, surgery fixed that, but it's been a struggle ever since.

Since March, it's been a nightmare. He's been to more appointments than I count, usually with an expensive Uber since I can't miss work. That first hospitalization was nearly 21 days, and we almost lost him. Luckily, he came back to us but it's been a slow decline ever since. He's on 8 different medications and that's always shifting depending on his day to day needs. He used to do the basics that you and I take for granted- walk, cook, etc. Now he needs help just getting out of bed.

Unfortunately. he is not able to work, drawing a small disability check. I've been trying to keep things going as much as I can on just my salary, but it's been difficult and I've finally hit a wall.

I've had to keep my house going, while also funding 8 different specialists with 2-3 appointments per month. His medications also run me close to $1200 after insurance. My family has been pitching in as much as they can, but even with their help that's barely enough for us to cover groceries.

We've hit a wall, and we really need your help!
