Supporting Kids of Africa (in Uganda)
Donation protected
Hi All, we are Leo Leguel (from 8 Rowan at Greycourt School) and his mum, Suzy Karger. We are traveling to Uganda over April term break to volunteer for the charity, Kids of Africa, which supports a village that is home to ten houses, a school, a farm and sports facilities for 100 orphans. http://www.kids-of-africa.com/
Kids of Africa could benefit from funding for projects like:
1. Scholarships for orphans attending the Kids Pioneer Primary School, which is owned by Kids of Africa. A boarding school scholarship per year at Kids Pioneer Primary School is approximately £665 per student. The school year starts in February. .www.kidspioneerprimaryschool.com.
2. Athletics For All: Impacting vulnerable children through athletics. Funding would go to coaching salaries, equipment, and food. See this video: https://tinyurl.com/athleticsforall-kidsofafrica
3. Reusable menstrual pads: Funding will go to buying pad materials, salaries for instructors, and food for the participants.
Once a year they host the popular "Kids of Africa Run": https://tinyurl.com/Kids-of-Africa-Run-2024
Proceeds go to the "Menstrual Hygiene and Management Project", where we teach vulnerable girls to make their own reusable pads.
Leo and Suzy are really passionate about this Kids of Africa and their cause to support orphans and kids in Uganda. We are excited to visit these children in April, and contribute our time and energy to make their lives better. Please help us to help them!
