Mami’s Brave Cancer Fight

Donation protected
Hi everyone. My name is Keyla Campbell, and I’m here in hopes of some help from a village.
My beautiful mom, Kenia Lopez, has passed away. She was a strong, resilient, single momma who really did everything as if it was easy.
One of the things she made seem easy was her fight with cancer. My mom was first diagnosed five years ago with ovarian cancer. She had been in remission after a couple of years of aggressive chemotherapy. However, about two years ago it came back tenfold and metastasized. Two years ago they gave my momma about six months to live. And she fought. For two whole years. My mom was extremely strong willed and truly had her children’s interest at heart but in the end she kept my brother and sister and I in the dark. My grandmother and my aunt were there for her every step of the way and I did the best I could with what she was willing to tell me.
My mommy was 44 years old. I always joked with her that because she had me so young that she would be around for a really, really long time to annoy me and lecture me and tell me what to do. But yesterday she was able to rest. She didn’t have to fight anymore. She’s not in pain anymore.
My mom is and was amazing. Her strength and stubbornness never wavered but she was always thinking of me, Chikito, and Katie. We were her world. Her life. Everything she did she did it for us.
She did not want a service held because well that’s my mom, she was very private about everything and she still wants it that way.
However, my family and I need help. Between taking care of my baby brother and sister, bills, and memorial expenses for my mom I’m asking everyone who took the time to read this far to please. Whatever you can donate. It would help us so much.
I want to thank everyone so far who has messaged my family and I to check in and offer a shoulder to cry on and to hear more about her or to share memories.
No matter how much money is raised I know my family and I would be infinitely grateful.
We are truly, truly blessed to have had the time we did with mami. She was strong willed and her strength is in me and my siblings. Forever.
Thank you.
