Supporting John, Bekah, and Their 5 Children Through Bekah’s Battle With Cancer

We are reaching out in faith and hope to ask for support for a family deeply loved in our community — John and Bekah Klassen and their five wonderful children: Jacob, Josie, Ellie, Teddy, and Isaak.

Many know Bekah as someone who loves to connect with people — a friendly, familiar face who faithfully drives school bus for Vanscoy, and as a devoted homeschooling mother. She pours her heart into her family and her community every single day.

Recently, their family received heartbreaking news:

Bekah has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called malignant phyllodes. Conventional treatment methods such as chemotherapy and radiation are not effective against this form of cancer, leaving the family to look toward alternative treatment options.

She will be undergoing surgery at the end of December to remove a large mass, but they do not yet have a clear plan in place for treatment beyond that.

During this time of treatment and recovery, John will need to reduce his work hours to care for Bekah and to support their children through this incredibly difficult season. With a family of seven and many unknowns ahead, the financial burden could be significant.
