Hi my name is Yen and I am raising funds to support Jay and his young family as they resettle in Canada. Jay is a refugee from Afghanistan who was forced to flee his homeland in 2019 due to the escalating conflict and danger. Since then, he has been living as a stateless person in Malaysia, without access to basic rights, work opportunities, or a clear future. Life in Malaysia has been full of uncertainty, hardship, and difficulties.
I met Jay in 2021 through an education mentoring program. Despite all odds, he remained determined to build a better future for himself, his wife, and his young daughter. Over the past few years, I’ve seen firsthand Jay’s courage, commitment to learning, and unwavering hope.
Now, after four long years of waiting, Jay has finally received life-changing news: he and his family have been accepted for resettlement in Canada under a sponsorship program! This is a rare and precious opportunity to rebuild their lives in safety and dignity.
But resettlement is just the beginning. Starting over in a new country brings its own challenges. Jay and his family will arrive with very limited resources and need urgent support to cover their basic needs—housing, food, clothing, and other essentials—as they get on their feet.
We are seeking to raise money to help Jay, his wife, and daughter make a stable and dignified transition to their new life in Canada.
Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward supporting their basic needs.
This is more than just financial support—it’s a message to Jay and his family that they are not alone. Let’s welcome them with compassion and give them the fresh start they’ve fought so hard for.
Please donate if you can, and share this campaign with others who may want to help.
Thank you for standing with Jay and his family in this moment of hope.
