Integration Fund: People living in DirectProvision

Donation protected
Monasterevin Community Asylum Seeker Support Group are hoping to  raise money for people seeking asylum who are living in the Direct Provision centre in the Hazel Monasterevin .

Many people who are living in the Direct Provision centre would like to have the possibility to integrate in the local community. Many people hope that through joining sports teams, dance classes, knitting clubs, children summer camps, baby yoga in the area that it will help people to become active community members in Monasterevin.

As many people are living together in the DP centre in often crowded rooms it is vital for peoples overall health to have a space to get out of the centre and become active in the community.

Also ,as the summer months are approaching and children will be finished school. Parents of children living in the Direct Provision centre have voiced their worries as over the Easter months children were getting in trouble for playing in the halls of the Direct Provision centre as children were idle for the two weeks school  break. Parents would like for their children to join the local summer camps to gain friendships and build relationships with their school friends.

However as there are costs associated to camps and joining fees to sports clubs this isn't a possibility for people living in Direct Provision to avail of for themselves or their children without support from others.

The support group hope that through gaining funds through this project it will support people living in the Direct Provision centre to eliminate the financial barriers to partaking in the activities and facilities in the area.It is hoped that supporting people to integrate with the Monasterevin and wider Kildare community  it will enhance adult and children's mental health,well-being and  overall connection with the community .

Every little act of kindness goes a long way !! Every donation is greatly appreciated :) :)
