Our brother-in-law, Sam Warren, took his own life three days before Christmas. A devoted father of two and a loving husband to our sister Gabrielle, Sam spread joy to anyone he met. We were so proud and humbled to have a person like him as part of our family. If you watched the way he loved Gabrielle and how proud he was to be a dad, it would melt your heart. We adored him. We are devastated. We are in shock.
Massive hardships have fallen on our sister Gabrielle. It has become overwhelming for her. Gabrielle and Sam recently bought a home together in Kansas City, Missouri. All of their family members and close friends live out of state, making it even more difficult for Gabrielle to handle the emotional trauma. This combined with all of the administrative and legal tasks that go along with Sam's passing is taking a huge toll on her. She never imagined that she would have to explain to her children why their dad is no longer with us. She needs support with:
- The cost of child care.
- Therapy for herself and children.
- Hiring a lawyer to help her with all of the involved legal matters.
- Selling the family house.
- Adjusting to being the sole provider and parent for two kids.
- Moving out of state to be close with loved ones.
