Supporting Families in Need in Egypt

Unfortunately, the number of coronavirus cases in Egypt has been increasing exponentially and day laborers have been suffering in the process. Not only do they no longer have a source of income, but they can’t afford to simply stay home.

You can’t really ask someone to stay home if they don’t have the luxury to and you can’t ask someone to stay safe when they don’t have the means to. If they have to leave the house everyday because otherwise they won’t have the basics to survive (i.e. food), they will choose to leave the house every single day

With this knowledge, there is an inadmissible need to help alleviate, not only the stress of the coronavirus on the healthcare system and individuals, but the stress that parents have to experience, thinking about how they’ll provide their household with the basic necessities the following day. This is especially true for families that have lost their jobs amidst these tough times.

Going into Eid, it would be great to help enable 290 families to stay home (worry free) and stay safe for the next 2 weeks, hoping to get those numbers to go down and to help those families push through this crisis.

We’ll be donating the raised money to Misr El Kheir (https://misrelkheir.org/en/) that will provide the families with a food box (to stay home) and a sanitary bag (to stay safe). The combo of the two is worth 200 EGP. I hope you’d participate in helping me reach this target. The smallest of donations always makes a great difference! We will be posting the receipts of doing those donations and confirming the amount donated.
