Your generosity can be their beacon of hope

My heart aches and tears fall as I write this. Two days ago, a devastating flood swept through our home in Aborlan, Palawan, Philippines. The water rose to the roof, swallowing everything we owned. But I thank God my family are safe now. My three children Dana, Nj and Kate, watched in terror as their world was turned upside down. Now they’re sleeping on the road outside our mud-cake home, unable to attend to school because all their school stuffs, uniforms and everything were destroyed. They’re resilient, bright children with dreams, but right now, they’re facing an impossible challenge.

As a student far from home, I’m struggling tomake ends meet. The distance feels like unbearable chasm, separating me from my children in their time of greatest need. I long to hold them, to comfort them personally, to help them clean our home and rebuild their lives, but I’m trapped here, helpless and heartbroken.

Your kindness can be their lifeline, their beacon of hope in this overwhelming situation. Any help you can offer will go directly towards providing them with new clothes, school supplies, and the essentials they need to get back on their feet.

We also plan to share any extra resources with other families in our community who were affected by the flood. Your generosity will not only help my children but also bring comfort to others facing similar hardships.

Thank you for your compassion and support.
