Support Adam and Oli Following the Loss of Their Mum, Erika

Donation protected
Dear friends, family and community,

It is with great sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of Erika Allamand, on 28 May 2024. Her kind heart, brave soul and vibrant energy touched so many lives, and her loss is felt deeply by all who knew her. She was truly an inspiration. Erika had been battling cancer for some time, but her sudden rapid decline in health and eventual passing was very unexpected for Erika’s family and friends. Understandably, the past few weeks have been a complete whirlwind. Erika had so much life to live, but we will treasure the precious memories made and we know her spirit and legacy will live on through her two beautiful sons – Adam (Aged 18) and Oli (Aged 15).

As many of you will know, Oli suffers with Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA) following his diagnosis in 2019, and is now disabled. This is a serious, progressive genetic disorder affecting the nerves, muscles, heart and pancreas. Symptoms include problems with balance and co-ordination, slurred speech, weakness in the legs which has led to wheelchair use, abnormal curvature of the spine, vision and hearing loss, and thickening of the heart muscles. Oli’s quality of life has been significantly impacted by this rare condition, and Erika fought so hard over the years to give Oli and Adam the best life possible.

In this incredibly difficult time, we are coming together to support Erika’s boys. The funds raised will contribute towards both the interim period as Oli and Adam navigate through their grief, as well as the boys' long-term futures. This includes any house adaptations and mobility equipment needed for Oli as his cruel disease progresses. Donations will go towards all the things that Erika was committed to for her boys’ future, before she sadly passed.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference and will be deeply appreciated. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page.

Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, and for keeping Erika’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this heartbreaking time. Erika will always be with us.

With deepest gratitude,
Erika’s family
