Yesterday afternoon, Dion went to the ER for chest pains/having trouble breathing. We soon found that there was a tear in his aortic valve (Type A Dissection), and would need emergency open heart surgery to repair/replace his valve.

After 7 hours in surgery, they were able to repair his valve rather than replace it with a metal one. He is currently recovering in the ICU. Thank you so much for the prayers, please continue to pray for him as he has a long road of recovery ahead.

Update on Dion as of 10/2 :

Doctors are doing their best to keep Dion’s blood pressure down with medication. They did a CT scan this morning to ensure his kidney is functioning properly, just because his blood pressure is so high.

He has gotten up out of bed and into the recliner twice, so it is a big step with him being able to walk.

2nd day and 3rd days are always the worst, and he definitely is experiencing the worst of it right now.
