We’re raising funds for our dear friend Desirae Harp as she embarks on one of the most beautiful and transformative seasons of her life: motherhood. We feel so blessed by the arrival of this new little baby (on February 24th!) and are moved by our belief that our indigenous mothers should feel like they have all of the support they need at all times. Let us surround this baby and mama with the village that Desirae has been pouring into, let us now show up to hold this family together!

Desirae is a beloved member of our community — community organizer, singer/songwriter, cultural advocate, educator, and tradition-bearer rooted in her Indigenous heritage as a member of the Mishewal Wappo Nation and a descendant of the Diné (Navajo) Nation. She shares her gifts through music, cultural teachings, language revitalization, and community work that inspires and uplifts all who know her.
As Desirae and Steven focus on welcoming their child and Desi takes maternity leave, she is stepping away from work obligations to focus on health, healing, and bonding with her baby. Like many new parents, this transition comes with financial challenges — from medical and household expenses to the everyday costs of welcoming a little one into the world.
