Shortly after midnight on Monday, December 22nd, Cindy and Mike Mullin experienced an unimaginable tragedy when a fire started in their home. Cindy, Mike, and their dog, Jack, were able to escape safely; however, the fire caused significant damage and loss to their home, personal belongings, and vehicles.
Cindy and Mike have been residents of Oak Ridge for more than 30 years and have long been active members in the community. Cindy volunteered as an EMT on the Milton First Aid Squad and worked at Jefferson Township High School, and Mike volunteered as a hockey coach in town throughout his son’s childhood. If you know Cindy and Mike, you know that they would give anyone the shirt off their back.
During this incredibly difficult time, we kindly ask the community to rally around Mike and Cindy as they begin the long and uncertain process of rebuilding. Support in any form, whether through a donation, sharing this page, or simply offering a smile or kind word when you see them around town, means more than words can express. The days, weeks, and months ahead are uncertain as they work to rebuild and heal. Any help, no matter how small, is deeply appreciated.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Jefferson Township Fire Department Company 1, Jefferson Township Fire Department Company 2, Jefferson Township Police Department, Milton First Aid Squad, Picatinny Arsenal Fire Department, West Milford Fire Department, Hardyston Fire Department, and all of the first responders who answered the call early Monday morning. Thank you for working diligently to extinguish the fire, and for ensuring the safety of Cindy, Mike, and Jack.
We are also deeply grateful to the neighbors, friends, and family who have shown such overwhelming kindness and support. Your compassion and generosity have helped make an incredibly painful time just a little easier, and it will never be forgotten.
With Deep Gratitude,
Brittany & Sean Mullin
