Children with Disabilities, Uganda
Donation protected
As a mum to a beautiful daughter with Down’s syndrome, I know the pain of stigma and the power of being seen and supported.
This has inspired me to become a committed voice for children with special needs.
This year, I’m honoured to join Special Children’s Trust for their 10th Annual Awareness and Fun Day for Children with Disabilities in Uganda, happening on 11th July 2025.
Over 1,500 children with learning disabilities will gather for a powerful day of inclusion, joy, and empowerment.
As a clinical pharmacist, I’ll be volunteering with a team offering free health and wellness checks providing vital services to children in communities where even basic healthcare is hard to access.
Why This Matters
Many of these children have never had a proper check-up. Early diagnosis of conditions like malaria, sickle cell, or diabetes can be the difference between thriving and suffering.
Your donation can fund essential diagnostic tests. For example, for as little as £7, we can screen 50 children for diabetes.
Here’s what your support can provide:
•Diabetes (Glucose) – £7 for 50 tests
•Pregnancy (Urine HCG) – £7 for 50 tests
•Malaria – £10 for 25 tests
•Stomach Ulcers (H. pylori) – £10 for 25 tests
•Hepatitis B – £13 for 25 tests
•Syphilis (RPR) – £14 for 40 tests
•Typhoid – £15 for 25 tests
•Liver & Kidney Function – £18 for 25 tests
•HIV – £20 for 100 tests
•Sickle Cell Disease – £40 for 25 tests
…and more.
