On October 10, 2026, Brianna’s Closet 916 plans to host our 2nd Pregnancy & Infant Loss Memorial Day inside the Central California Women’s Facility (CCWF) in Chowchilla, California.

This full-day, trauma-informed event will provide a compassionate and culturally inclusive space for incarcerated women who have experienced:

Miscarriage, Stillbirth, Infant loss

For many of these women, their grief has never been acknowledged. There are no funerals. No memorials. No space to speak their child’s name. This event is about restoring humanity, honoring loss, and allowing healing to begin — or continue — in community.

In July 2019, our lives changed forever with the full-term stillbirth of our beloved Brianna Rayne Thompson. Out of that devastating loss, and through unexpected support from incarcerated women who understood grief in its deepest form, Brianna’s Closet 916 (BC916) was born.

BC916 is a small, community-based nonprofit rooted in love, lived experience, and the belief in the butterfly effect — that one small act of compassion can create meaningful change for families, communities, and generations to come.
