Please Donate to Help My Sister Make Precious Memories with Her Babies

The last few weeks our world has shattered with the news that my beautiful sister, Bethany, has been diagnosed with bowel cancer which has spread to her ovary. It’s widespread and she faces major surgery and chemotherapy in the coming weeks.

Bethany is the strongest woman I know, an incredible mum, a dedicated daughter and the best sister I could ever ask for. My best friend. No matter what life throws at her, she faces it with courage, love and determination. Her three boys are a reflection of her; kind, caring, and full of love. Treasured by everyone who knows them. She’s the most wonderful Auntie, completely adored by my two, who light up whenever she’s around.

Anyone who knows my sister will agree, Bethany goes above and beyond for those she loves. She is always the first person I turn to for help and support but sometimes she finds it hard to accept help herself. She will probably kill me for setting this up but I am sure there are many people who would like to offer Beth and the boys some help through all this and right now the most important thing to all of us is finding opportunities for quality time and memory making.

So I’m raising money to help Bethany and her boys make precious memories together — to enjoy special days out like Legoland, to fund Christmas activities to make this season as magical as possible and perhaps even a short break away when her health allows. These moments of joy and normality will be so incredibly important.

Every donation, no matter how small, will go towards helping Bethany, Theo, Elijah and Moses. Easing some of the financial pressure and bringing some fun and happiness to them during this incredibly difficult time.

We’re all completely heartbroken. This news has turned our world upside down and really put life into perspective. Hold your loved ones close, spend time together and always take the photos!

My sister’s diagnosis has changed our lives in ways we could never have imagined. As we fundraise to support her, we also want to raise awareness of colorectal cancer and krukenberg tumours. Please don’t ignore the signs, never feel embarrassed: changes in bowel habits, blood in your poo, bloating, persistent tummy pain, unexplained weight loss, or even just feeling that something isn’t right. You know your body better than anyone else, if you’re not happy with your GP’s advice, trust your instincts and ask for a second opinion.
