Helping BEAM Find Its Way Forward

Our hearts are with the families who have lost loved ones, those who were injured, and the entire Silver Rail community following the unimaginable tragedy on October 15. Our community is grieving, and our focus remains on supporting one another through this heartbreaking time.

BEAM is a small nonprofit that provides relationship-centered, trauma-informed educational and social-emotional support to children in Bend, Oregon. For many of our students, BEAM is a place where they have found friendship, safety, acceptance, and belonging.

BEAM has been housed at Silver Rail Elementary School, and we are now needing to relocate.

We don't yet know exactly what that will look like. Like so many others in our community, we are taking things one day at a time.

BEAM is facing unexpected expenses, including rental deposits, moving costs, and supplies needed to establish a safe and welcoming space for our students.

We also recognize that there are families in our community experiencing losses beyond comprehension. Their needs and their grief deserve our community's attention and support as well.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has reached out to BEAM with kindness, encouragement, and offers of help. Any funds raised through this campaign will be used for necessary relocation and program-continuity expenses, should those needs arise.

For now, our priority is caring for our children and families, supporting our Silver Rail community, and thoughtfully determining what comes next.
