Our hearts remain with the families who have lost loved ones, those who were injured, and the entire Silver Rail community following the unimaginable tragedy on October 15. We continue to hold close every child, family, and educator whose world has been forever changed.
BEAM has called Silver Rail Elementary School home. Several of the children we serve are Silver Rail students directly impacted by this tragedy. While our BEAM children are safe, we have lost access to the space where they built friendships, developed trust, and found a place to belong.
And now, when our children need connection and consistency more than ever, we are searching for a new home.
But we also have found hope.
The generosity of our community has reminded us that we are not navigating this alone. We are actively exploring every possible option to find a safe, sustainable home for BEAM. We have identified some promising possibilities.
We don't yet know exactly what our new home will look like or where it will be. But we know what it needs to provide: a place where children can feel safe, build relationships, learn, play, and belong.
For years, we have watched families and educators work tirelessly to support children whose needs don't always fit within the options available.
The dedication is there. The love is there. But the options aren't always there.
BEAM was created to help fill that gap. And as we work toward rebuilding, we also see an opportunity to imagine what more could be possible. Our long-term vision includes continuing our after-school programming while expanding into daytime learning and support for children who need something different from a traditional school setting.
We are asking our community to help us secure a new home for BEAM. Funds raised will help us pursue the most sustainable option, whether that means a down payment toward purchasing a property, securing a long-term lease, or covering the costs necessary to make a new space safe and functional for our students.
We recognize that families in our community are experiencing unimaginable loss, and their needs deserve our deepest compassion and support. At the same time, we know there are children who are navigating their own trauma, uncertainty, and loss of a place that made them feel safe and understood.
Their needs matter, too. Their healing matters, too.
BEAM may have lost its classroom, but we have not lost our purpose.
Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared our story, offered resources, or reached out with encouragement. Every act of kindness is helping us move forward. Thank you for helping us build a future where more children have a place to belong.
With love and gratitude,
The BEAM Team
Where every child belongs. No exceptions.
