Supporting Anita and Her Family

Our family is going through an incredibly difficult time. Anita was recently diagnosed with an aggressive and inoperable brain tumor, and her health has declined very quickly. What started as a shocking diagnosis has now become a heartbreaking reality as we prepare for the time we have left with her.

Anita is a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who has always cared deeply for the people around her. She raised her sons with strength, kindness, and a sense of humor that anyone who knew her will never forget. Her family means everything to her and her children are her world.

As we navigate this devastating situation, we are also facing the financial stress that comes with it. We are raising funds to help cover Anita’s funeral and end-of-life arrangements, as well as her ongoing bills and mortgage payments. Our hope is to keep her son Nick in the family home for the time being while we figure out the next steps during this incredibly overwhelming period.

Because Anita did not have a will or power of attorney arranged beforehand, her sons may now have to go through lawyers and possibly court, in order to be granted the legal ability to manage her affairs and make important decisions on her behalf. With Anita’s condition declining so quickly, she may unfortunately no longer be able to be deemed competent enough to appoint this herself. The legal costs involved in this process are also unknown and can place an unexpected financial strain on the family.

This fundraiser will help ease the financial burden so that the family can focus on being together, supporting one another, and honoring Anita’s life.
