Supporting Angel Dazo Through Cancer

Donation protected
In August 2022 Angel went to his primary care doctor for his routine yearly physical. Everything seemed fine. A couple of days after his physical, Angel got a call from his doctor telling him that his white blood cell count was very low. His doctor then referred him to see an oncologist at Mission Hope.
The oncologist began running multiple tests to find out why Angel's white blood cell count was so low. Angel had to undergo different types of blood tests, PET scan, and a Bone Marrow Biopsy. The results from these tests are Cancer. The oncologist told Angel he has Multiple Myeloma. This is a rare cancer that affects Angels blood and bones.
The diagnosis of Cancer has been extremely difficult for Angel and our family. It has turned our lives upside down. Angel has already had to go through 6 rounds of Chemotherapy along with multiple other drugs that were needed. All of the Chemo and medications have left Angel's bones brittle, caused multiple lesions to form on his bones, and left him with a lot of pain.
Angel is currently in the process of a Stem Cell Transplant at the City of Hope Hospital in Duarte, CA. This has already been a long process. He has already had to spend 3 days at City of Hope having multiple tests run and training for some of his treatments. He is just finishing another 4 days at City of Hope to harvest his own stem cells for the transplant. He has had to be connected to a machine for 6 hours a day for the process of the harvesting. The next steps for Angel starting March 13th will be major Chemo to get rid of any cancer left in his body. Then beginning the process of the Stem Cell Transplant. This transplant will be at City of Hope and Angel will have to be there another 14 to 16 days and will then have a long recovery afterwards.
Angel will not be able to work for the next 2 to 5 months because the transplant will completely wipe out his immune system. The funds raised here will help Angel and his family with medical bills and treatments that are not covered. It will also help with hotel and travel expenses to and from the City of Hope located in Los Angeles. Due to Angel not being able to work during this process it has caused a loss of income.

We know that this is a difficult time for people to give during these times and we appreciate all the love and support. Thank you to all of you who are willing to give and help Angel. He is not in this battle alone and we are all here to help get him through this! Dad keep fighting! You Got This!
