In November 2025, our world was turned upside down when Scott Flitney, a loving husband and dad of four was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer. Tragically, it has been incredibly aggressive. In two short months he received palliative care from Isabel Hospice and passed away on 16 January 2026.

A funeral service to honour and celebrate Scott’s life will be held on 12th February 2pm at Woollensbrook Crematorium, Hertford Road, EN11 9BN. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend. Scott asked for everyone to wear blue and said “people don’t need to be suited and booted”.

To follow there will be a celebration of Scott’s life at The Farmers Boy pub, Brickendon, SG13 8NU from 3pm.

Scotts story:

He met the love of his life, Justina, at 18, and they married on 27 July 2018. Together they built a beautiful family and are proud parents to four children Noah 15, Isaac 12, Brodie 9 and Ophelia-Rose 2. He is a devoted husband and an amazing dad who lives for his family.

Anyone who knows him knows how kind he is. He would do anything for anyone and has always gone out of his way to help absolutely everyone. He has worked incredibly hard throughout his life, taking on multiple jobs and always doing his best to provide, protect and care for his family.

Justina recently asked Scott if there was anywhere he would love to go or anything he would love to do with his wife and children. He spoke a lot about his favourite memories of camping and going to the beach with his family. He said that one day he wanted to take them to Australia and the Caribbean. If possible, we would love to help make this dream a reality for his family, creating special memories they can hold onto forever.

His sudden illness has been devastating for everyone who loves him. With his family now facing life without him far sooner than anyone could ever imagine. We have set this up to help ease life ahead, so they can focus on being together, supporting one another, and cherishing every moment.
