Helping a loving family of eight (plus a dog!) give their naturally conceived quadruplets the best possible start in life.
Life has a beautiful way of surprising us.... and for this incredible family from Northampton, that surprise came fourfold.
Our dear friends recently welcomed quadruplets (naturally conceived) into the world over 100 days earlier than planned.
These 4 beautiful, tiny miracles have been receiving specialist care at Oxford and Northampton's NICU's. Every day for the past 4+ months, Mum and Dad have spent there time travelling between Northampton and Oxford to be by their sides, juggling hospital life whilst also caring for their two older children and their furry friend while trying to look after their own health and mental wellbeing. Despite the exhaustion and constantly changing medical uncertainty, they remain loving and deeply devoted to their growing family.
The babies have already undergone multiple operations and serious procedures during the course of their little lives, showing incredible strength. Watching them fight so hard at such an early age is truly inspiring.
Their little ones have battled every day, with the constant feeling of uncertainty, walking a path with no clear map, is an exhausting reality they have faced daily, yet they meet it with love, hope, and an unwavering dedication.
Although they have sometimes been able to stay at the Ronald McDonald Charity House in Oxford and live locally to Northampton hospital, the pressure of splitting life between home, hospital, and family is overwhelming.
Dad is self-employed and has to keep working to support the family, even when his heart is with his newborns and partner.
Mum is currently on maternity leave, with the needs of four newborns at home, the financial strain is growing daily, with travel expenses and preparing for the inevitable day when all four babies come home. The pressure is on dad to provide for a newly formed family of 8, but his time required within the family home is near approaching as finally, their path is starting to look clearer as talk of a discharge home for all 4 babies is now in sight.
Immediate challenges are that the family’s house situation adds another layer of pressure; they currently live in a small two-bedroom house, as you can imagine, space will be almost impossible once the quads are home. Having the right home space is not a luxury.... it’s a necessity for the babies’ safety, development, and the family’s wellbeing.
A vehicle big enough for 8 people is required, as they cannot currently travel as a family as the current car is too small. At the moment, they don't know how they will attend hospital appointments with all 4 babies as travelling in their current car is not possible.
All paths come with daunting financial costs, emotional & time challenges, and the additional strain of physical drain. We’ve created this page to try and help ease the financial burdens so they can focus on what matters most, their precious family.
Your donations will go towards:
• On-going daily travel & fuel costs. Plus travel to future medical appointments that will take place at Oxford.
• A new vehicle to fit the whole family.
• Costs to help move to a larger home to create a safe, suitable space for everyone.
• Essentials that come with welcoming four new babies all at once.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a huge difference.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting this ordinary family through such an extraordinary chapter in their lives. ❤️
If you know of resources to help with this effort, or know of resources to help with the care of the quads, please let us know. Thank you!
