India & Lyvonne Emergency Relocation Fund

Hello!
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m India and I’m starting my senior year at Ventura High School soon. I live with my mom, Lyvonne, and my cat Charlie. Senior year is supposed to be a time that you spend applying to colleges, a year of fun and of celebration, your last year of high school with friends and family. Since the summer before freshman year, my mom and I lived in a little duplex by the beach. In spring it was sold to new owners who plan on tearing it down and building a big house, leaving us to find a new home. We found a place that we thought would work to finish out this last year; it wasn’t perfect, but it was what we could afford, and it worked.
We moved into a house with two other housemates and have been living in the home for three weeks. Then, our two housemates decided to move out and we were given 30 days notice to leave as well. Right now we have quite adverse circumstances as my mom is struggling to find work as she was laid off recently and we have no savings. Ventura has no rent control, so no relocation offers have been provided.
We are hoping to raise $10,000 because this is the amount generally provided when a family is required to move under rent control. We have until August 26th to find our new home.
If anyone is able to donate even just a dollar or two, we appreciate any support we can get. We understand that not everyone is able to donate, but we are so grateful for anything we receive. I’ve never been able to stay at the same school for more than two years and it would mean the world to me to be able to stay here in Ventura throughout high school.
