Support Barbara Moses in Her Final Battle

Donation protected
Barbara Moses, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, has just entered into the final stages of her battle with bladder cancer. Her only daughter, Marissa Swaika, has taken a leave of absence in order to care for Barbara and spend the last of this precious time together.

We are raising money to help ease the financial and emotional burden that will ensue. Please donate what you can.

If you haven't had the supreme pleasure of meeting 'Babs', here is what Marissa has to say about the woman who raised her:

"This beautiful human, this incredible mother of mine, Barbara has fought [bladder cancer] bravely since 2017. When she gave me life, I had an instant, built-in best friend. She’s never wavered in her love and support in everything I do. She [recently] told me her two favorite things about me are that I’m funny and smart. If that’s true, I know where I get these qualities from. She has been my constant and I love her so so deeply. She’s kept a journal throughout life, documenting my life over the years and wrote about some of our sweetest and silliest moments together. I’m so grateful she did this because it’s a way for me to feel connected to her for the rest of my life.

"Watching her suffer is the hardest thing I’ve ever endured. Please pray for her peace and comfort, and for God to give me strength so that I may be hers.

"Some of our happiest times and memories: Trips to Santa Barbara (and eating at Stacky’s) and Cambria listening to Josh Groban, Keith Urban and Maroon 5. Trips to Filoli, Truckee, Murphy’s for her birthday and so much more. My favorite outings with mom were our trips to the mall to go to Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, Talbots, Macys etc. We would always enjoy a meal at Cheesecake Factory together. Mom loved going to Starbucks for a Venti Black Iced Tea. She always made friends there that knew her name since she frequented so much. She could make friends more easily than I ever could. I have always admired that. She always has a story to tell.

"Mom - the most beautiful thing I saw happen to you was the day you became a grandma. Spencer asks about you every day and always asks when you will get better. I love you to the ends of the earth and I hope God makes the rest of your days as comfortable as possible. You are my sunshine."
