Many of you know that for the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting and mentoring Z, a bright, determined, soccer-loving 13-year-old, as her court-appointed advocate with CASA and foster care. She has worked so hard—both personally and academically—and recently made the All-Star soccer team, something she is incredibly proud of.

This past month brought something truly amazing:

Z was reunited with her biological parents.

After a long and challenging road, they are finally together again—a moment we weren’t always sure would come, and one that has brought so much joy and hope.

Because of this transition, Christmas will look a little different for Z and her family this year. The family is currently relocating due to changes in their state voucher housing, and the small grants we previously used to help provide Z with holiday gifts are no longer available.

Throughout this journey, so many of you have opened your hearts to Z—donating clothes, offering support, and cheering her on. I thought it would be meaningful to come together once more and raise a small fund to help her family with necessities for their new home, and to make sure Z gets a few Christmas gifts as she celebrates her first holiday reunited with her parents.

Every amount helps.

All donations will be used to purchase gift cards so the family can directly buy what they need most—household essentials, clothing, and a few special presents for Z.
