Hi, my name is Zoey Crenshaw-Bass. I am asking for donors' help during this incredibly difficult time for me and my family. Anything helps and is greatly appreciated.

On February 9th, my whole
life changed within a matter of minutes. My grandmother's home, where me and my cousins were staying for the night, caught fire and burned.

During this process, we lost a significant portion of the house, with an entire room completely gone and left exposed. The incident escalated so quickly, all starting from my room blacking out. There was no power and a smell emerged. Suddenly, black smoke came flushing out of the vents. We were incredibly lucky to make it out as fast as we did—most importantly, alive. We were later given the opportunity to walk through the home, which was extremely difficult both emotionally and mentally. Hearing that some rooms and hallways reached temperatures ranging from 500°F to 1500°F was devastating to take in.

There was a very thin line between life and death that night, one that almost cost me and my family our lives. I happened to be there that night and witnessed everything unfold. It was an absolutely surreal and heartbreaking experience for all of us. We lost most of our belongings, either burned down to a liquid or destroyed by soot covering everything—barely anything is salvageable, and everything has to either be left behind or disposed of.

This is me urgently asking for your help in any way possible. Any support, whether through donations or sharing, means more than words can express. All funds will go directly toward replacing basic necessities and beginning the long process of rebuilding our lives from ground zero. While we have lost so much, we are grateful to still have each other, and with help, we can start to move forward and rebuild what was taken away from us
