The Zanesville Civic League Community Center (ZCL) has been a cornerstone of our community for generations. In this place, children have been guided, supported, and given a safe space to grow. For many, it has been more than just a building. It has been a second home, a place of structure, mentorship, and care when it was needed most. Today, we are on the verge of losing this space.
At this time, we are in urgent need of support. While our doors are still open, we are barely holding on. We are working to raise $30,000 to maintain basic operations, including utilities, staffing, and programming. Without this support, we may not be able to continue serving the children and families who rely on us every day.
For decades, this center has helped keep youth off the streets, providing structure, discipline, and resilience. It has been a place where young people could grow, make mistakes safely, and still be guided in the right direction. The individuals who serve here are more than staff; they are mentors, role models, and a true village that continues to show up for our youth.
We are calling on anyone whom the Zanesville Civic League has impacted, whether as a former participant, family member, event attendee, or community supporter. We also welcome support from those beyond Zanesville who believe in strengthening communities and investing in safe, supportive spaces for youth.
While $30,000 will not fully sustain long-term operations, it will provide critical support to continue services, stabilize operations, and pursue additional funding opportunities. Whether through giving or sharing, your help makes a difference. We are more than an organization; it is a legacy, a haven, and a place our community still needs.
This fundraiser is being organized by Taja Rooks, a ZCL board member, on behalf of the Zanesville Civic League Community Center, under the leadership of Executive Director Lisa Rooks. All funds raised will go directly toward supporting the center’s programs and daily operations.
