A message from Mom:
My daughter, Zaya Lasslie, was scheduled to have her tonsils and adenoids removed. We expected it to be a routine procedure with just an overnight stay. However, within five minutes of being in recovery, things took a turn—Zaya stopped breathing on her own and had to be placed on two oxygen sources (through her nose and mouth).
She aspirated blood into her lungs, despite the hospital being aware of her medical conditions: she’s a silent aspirator, has pulmonary stenosis, asthma, and severe sleep apnea. The aspiration caused pneumonia and an infection. She is now in critical condition and fighting hard.
I created a GoFundMe to raise $10,000 to help cover bills and prepare for emergencies. I’m a single mother of three—Jackson (8), Grayson (4, who is autistic), and Zaya (2). I pay $1,500 in rent and nearly $1,000 in utilities, plus daycare, phone, car, and other essentials for my kids.
I had to stop chemotherapy for my stage 2 ovarian cancer just to work full-time and keep us afloat. Now, with Zaya in the hospital and my employer unable to let me return to work just yet (which I understand and respect), I have no income and am overwhelmed with stress.
Doctors say Zaya will be hospitalized for a while. I can send photos for the GoFundMe page—I just want my little girl healthy again.
Please pray for not only sweet Zaya but her family as well! If you can, please donate and share this post!
