On the 31st of October, our family received the devastating news that our beautiful and beloved Zara (5) has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia — a life-threatening condition that requires her to undergo an intensive regime of chemotherapy under the capable care of the Perth Children’s Hospital Oncology Department.

This is an extremely stressful and challenging time for the family as they adjust to Zara’s diagnosis and the demands of her treatment, all while trying to maintain their usual family routines, including caring for big brother Noah (7) and baby sister Millie (1).

The family has been overwhelmed and uplifted by the outpouring of love, prayers, gifts for the children, and offers of practical support from family, friends, and the wider community. Bek and Rich wish to express their sincere gratitude for your ongoing support. It has been a blessing and a comfort over the past few weeks to know just how much love there is for Zara and her family.

There have also been generous offers of financial support to help the family as they navigate this difficult time. While there is absolutely no obligation, this page has been created for those who wish to support the family in this way.

Financial gifts will go towards supporting Zara and her family, including the following costs:

• An iPad for Zara, allowing her to connect with friends and family via FaceTime, continue her learning and schoolwork, and enjoy a window to the outside world.

• Temporary accommodation close to PCH to allow Bek to rest when someone is available to stay overnight with Zara.

• Reimbursement of transport and parking expenses for those travelling to provide care for Noah, Zara, and Millie.
