Zander is going to La Carpio, Costa Rica on a humanitarian trip for the next couple months.

He has worked all summer doing concrete work to save up for this trip. He rides his bike 5 miles each way every morning to get to work and has been very careful with his spending so he can afford this trip.

For a nineteen year old to have the heart to give back is really beautiful to see. How brave to leave the country for the first time to volunteer and gain invaluable life experience.

Here is a breakdown of costs. He has monthly rent here of $500, with some monthly bills. He is paying $600 a month to home stay with a Costa Rican family who provides housing and food. He has to pay $500 a month to the Costa Rican Humanitarian Foundation to volunteer each day. Flights to and home.

He is not on any social media platform and asked me not to do this if he has to start one but I will share pictures of his experience there..
