Hi, I’m Zainab, I’ve been a small animal vet for nearly four years now and have spent the past 2.5 years caring for pets at All Paws Vets in Harlow, a practice that has truly felt like a second family to me.

But long before I ever set foot in a clinic, I was captivated by the natural world. I spent hours as a child mesmerised by David Attenborough on TV, imagining what it would be like to step into the wild and protect the animals I saw on screen. Over the years, that fascination has grown into a deep sense of responsibility, witnessing the real threats wildlife face from habitat loss, poaching, and human-wildlife conflict has made me determined to do more than admire from afar

This year I have an incredible opportunity to volunteer as a veterinary professional on three wildlife conservation projects across the globe. Taking unpaid leave and with the encouragement and support of my loved ones and great team i work with, all that is left for me to do is ask if you could help in whatever small way to fund and support me in this endeavour.

These projects provide vital conservation efforts as well at hands on medical care to animals that have been injured, orphaned, or affected by habitat loss and illegal wildlife trade.

Working with wildlife is about being a part of something bigger, helping to safeguard species that cannot speak for themselves, and contributing to the preservation of ecosystems that sustain us all. This trip allows me to combine my veterinary skills with the opportunity to learn about wildlife conservation, turning childhood wonder into meaningful action.

As all of these trips are self funded, any donation, big or small would mean the world and will help cover my travel and placement fees - allowing me to volunteer and support these incredible wildlife projects. Everything raised will directly support the charities’ ongoing wildlife care and conservation work
