Support Zachary's Eagle Scout Project for Lockport Flagpole

My name is Zachary Dylkiewicz, and I'm a proud member of Boy Scout Troop 63. For my Eagle Scout project, I’m honored to bring Lockport’s newly designed city flag to life by installing its first permanent flagpole at Heritage Village.

This project goes beyond just a flagpole—it will create a welcoming community space with:

Why a Flagpole?

This journey started when I attended a Lockport City Council meeting for a merit badge. I noticed that while Lockport had a city seal, it had no official flag. That sparked an idea.

I proposed a flag design, and the council invited me to lead a committee to create a symbol that truly represents Lockport. After months of collaboration, we finalized and approved the design. Now, I want to give this flag a home it deserves—a place where residents and visitors can see it flying and inspire others in the community to fly it proudly.

Project Goal

To make this vision a reality, I'm raising $5,000 to fund:

The flagpole and installation

Landscaping and surrounding plantings

A solar LED light to keep the flag illuminated

A bike stop bench for the community to enjoy

A symbolism plaque explaining the flag’s meaning

I'll be working on this project this Spring and will finish by Old Canal Days in June, 2025.

The City of Lockport will be installing a new bike stop at Heritage Village and my project will be done in tandem with this larger city project.
