Hi! Some of you know us and some of you don't. We are Zach and Rochel. We have been married for 15 years. Zach had cancer at age 7, and that made it so he could not have kids. About 3-4 years into our marriage, we realized this, and it was difficult news. That did not stop us from hoping, praying, and believing that God could give us a kid. We also learned to be okay without, and that if God ever opened the door, we would be willing to step through.

In 2025, we went through the last phase of that hope when Rochel had a hysterectomy. We were excited that every month we would not have to hope, but losing the thought of the 'what if' was hard. We would be asked if we had kids, and the answer was no. Then the follow-up question was, would we ever adopt? It was an emotional battle last year.

Fast forward to November/December of 2025, we thought there might be a chance to become a guardian for a teen boy. We did not get our hopes up and even at this time are very nervous. We are seeking help because we just signed and paid a retainer for an attorney to help us navigate the legal process for becoming his legal guardian. We have all briefly talked about adoption and are open to it. However, at this time, we are just seeking guardianship.

As of January 19th, 2026, he has come to live with us. Zach's Grandma, who we also care for and lives with us, is excited and told him just the other night, "You are my great grandson." We are excited for this change, and we are scared. We don't know the full cost associated with this, but we have paid $5000 already towards the lawyer who said depending on the process, it may be less or more than that. So needless to say, we are nervous, but believe this young man has walked into our lives as God has planned!

So the big ask is, please pray for us!

Funds will be used to pay legal fees associated with this as well as expenses related to him moving in with us and getting all the essentials he needs.
