Your presence at our wedding, especially making the journey all the way to Medellin, is the greatest gift we could ever ask for. Meet Idalides—though everyone calls her Yoyi. Yoyi has been a part of Camila’s family for over 20 years, ever since Camila was 10. She’s been there since they returned from living in Monterey, CA, and was even present when Sebastian, Camila's younger brother, was born - He's now 18.

Yoyi comes from a close-knit family as one of six sisters, born in Arjona, a small town in the Bolívar Department in northern Colombia. Her family was involved in farming, with her father growing Yucca and taking care of donkeys. Yoyi has two children, one of whom has special needs and is deaf. After spending many years caring for her children, Yoyi is now working hard to save up to buy her first apartment—a place she can truly call her own.

This GoFundMe campaign is to help Yoyi with a down payment for her apartment and make that dream a reality.

Yoyi holds an incredibly special place in Camila’s heart. She was there every morning, helping Camila get ready for school, and after school, she would always be waiting with a grilled cheese, or an arepa, and a frappe milk chocolate. Yoyi is like family to us, and we’d love to surprise her with the help she deserves.
