GERMAN | ENGLISH 120 Tage - 4 Monate… So lange hatte ONA SAFARI nun keine Gäste mehr in Tansania. Viele unserer ehemaligen Gäste fragen uns gerade, wie schlimm die Situation ist und ob man etwas tun kann. Daher haben wir uns zu diesem ungewöhnlichen Schritt entschlossen und freuen uns über Spenden für das Team von ONA SAFARI. Das Wichtigste: gesundheitlich geht es dem Team und den Familien gut! Aber die Corona-Krise hat den gesamten Tourismus vor Ort hart getroffen. Mit den ausbleibenden Gästen fehlt Geld. Die Firma kann im Moment keine Gehälter mehr zahlen und keiner weiß wann es endlich wieder los geht. Staatliche Hilfen gibt es nicht. Normalerweise wäre jetzt Hochsaison und ONA hätte etwa 20-25 Gäste pro Woche. Auf der Safari hat man den engsten Kontakt zum Guide. Hier ergeben sich teilweise Freundschaften fürs Leben und man hilft der vertrauten Person gerne. Aber die Safaris werden auch von einem großen Team im Hintergrund geplant und durchgeführt. Das ONA-Team in Tansania ist in den Jahren auf knapp 25 Personen gewachsen. In Tansania leben von einem regelmässiges Einkommen meistens aber gleich sehr viele Leute. Für die Berechnung des Funding-Ziels haben wir einfach mal das Geld für Essen einer vierköpfigen Familie pro Tag auf einen Monat hochgerechnet. Das sind etwa 10 USD. Many of our former guests are currently asking us how bad the situation is and whether something can be done. We have therefore decided to take this unusual step and look forward to donations for the ONA SAFARI team. The most important thing: the team and the families are in good health! But the Corona crisis hit all local tourism hard. There is no money with the missing guests. The company can no longer pay salaries at the moment and nobody knows when it will finally start again. There is no government aid. It would normally be high season now and ONA would have around 20-25 guests a week. On the safari you have the closest contact to the guide. This sometimes results in friendships for life and one is happy to help the familiar person. But the safaris are also planned and carried out in the background by a large team. The ONA team in Tanzania has grown to almost 25 people over the years. In Tanzania, however, a large number of people usually live on a regular income. To calculate the funding goal, we simply extrapolated the money for meals for a family of four to a month per day. That's about $ 10.
