Last summer, Yale's Music shop was hit by a bus in the middle of the night, destroying the vast majority of their inventory, several irreplaceable heirlooms, as well as the venue in which they made their living. Shortly after, a Saturday afternoon fundraising event (which went well into the evening) was planned for the community to come forward and show their love to the Yales - Dave, Jediah and their families. So many people shared their music, their compassion, and their hard-earned money in an effort to help the Yales recover from this tragedy. Recently, an individual affiliated with the theater was investigated regarding theft of close to half of the donations from the event.

Words cannot express how much shame and disappointment arose when it was learned that we were naively not good stewards of the funds that were raised for the Yale family back in August. The Yale family, being as grateful and humble as they are, did not even bring attention to the discrepancy for months - not until it was publicized that the accused individual was being investigated regarding theft from a different organization.

It was so touching to see the community come out for a family in need - a disaster that occurred at absolutely no fault of their own. At the several-hour event, the music was uplifting, the spirt was encouraging, and I even stood next to the accused for a TV interview, completely ignorant that anyone could be so deceitful. I apologize to all who had the best of intentions for the Yale family. I don't know if they will recover what was lost through the justice system, but I do know that a well known, loving family has lost, and lost again. Therefore, this account has been created directly to and for the Yale families in a GoFundMe setting so that no ill-intended individual may intercede. If the community may come together once more, anything would be appreciated. Search your heart - $5, $50, or $500, every little bit helps. At the very least, please hit up the new "Yale's Music Repairs and Restorations" so they may continue to hear our songs! I won't apologize for someone else's wrongdoing, but I am so very sorry for the innocence we all once had.
