With a heavy heart, we are asking for help. Our family is going through an unimaginable tragedy. My cousin, Yahaira Yasmin Ascensio Valdez, was taken from us in a violent and senseless act at just 27 years old. She was a devoted mother to three beautiful children, who now face life without their mother and with only their grandmother to care for them. Yahaira’s loss has left a void that can never be filled, and her children are left with nothing but the love and support of family and community.
