Hello, my name is Jacquelin and I'm the mother to a beautiful and happy boy named Wyatt. Wyatt was diagnosed with autism; he's nonverbal, but don't let that fool you, he tries his hardest to communicate the best way he can. Even though he's nonverbal, he still has quite the imagination. I'm creating this fundraiser in hopes of getting the help to obtain an autism service dog for Wyatt.

Wyatt doesn't know or understand what can hurt him. He climbs, he runs without paying attention to surroundings, and he also has a tendency to hit himself. He has trouble sleeping and calming down at night. Wyatt attends several different therapies, and I strongly believe a service dog would help him tremendously. To be honest, his condition scares me to no end. It seems like every day I see on the news about a child with the same condition who has run off, and it usually ends badly. I'm trying to do everything in my power to make sure that never happens to Wyatt, so when I researched my options and came across service dogs, I thought, oh my god, this would help so much not only with him but help ease my worries too. Unfortunately, I didn't realize how expensive it is to obtain a service dog, and I can't afford to pay that, so here I am, pleading with everyone and anyone who can help. Due to Wyatt's condition I'm a stay at home mom. I've applied for disability for him but i know that process can take a long time. Wyatt goes to therapy twice a week every week and hes on the waitlist for aba therapy. Usually its just me taking him to his therapy by myself and also carting around Wyatt's 5 month old brother as well. This is another reason a service dog would help tremendously. Funds would be used first to put deposit or application fee down depending what is required by the company i end up using. Until I've raised enough to pay the remaining balance. Any extra will be used for the dog (leash, vest, insurance, food, bed). Some companies are nonprofit, most have certain requirements so I have to be particular with who I choose.
