Hey y’all, my name is Kaleb, and I’m the artist behind Cecil Odell Music and The Sound of the West Virginia Line.
What started as a mission to honor all 55 West Virginia Sheriff’s Departments has grown into something much bigger. Because of the support and encouragement of the community, this project has expanded to honor and support all West Virginia first responders.
Through this music, I’ve already released songs for sheriffs, deputies, State Police, DNR, Forestry, D.O.T., fire departments, security, 911 dispatch, nurses, EMS, D.O.T. officers, and more, along with songs about West Virginia life, West Virginia country, and West Virginia rock. The goal has always been to make this music feel real to the people and places it represents.
This mission is personal to me. I grew up in a multi-generation law enforcement family, and I have close friends across the first responder world. I’m not creating this from the outside looking in. I’m building it from a place of respect, pride, and real connection to the people who hold the line every day.
Now I’m working to grow this into something that gives back in a real way through The Sound of the West Virginia Line First Responders Relief Fund.
The goal of this fund is to help support West Virginia first responders with real needs, whether that means:
• equipment
• supplies
• department needs
• fundraising support
• emergency needs
• financial help where it is needed most
I also want to be honest: so far, almost all of this project has come out of my own pocket, with the exception of a handful of wonderful people who have helped along the way. I’ve been covering the cost of writing, recording, releasing, promoting, building merch, and trying to grow this mission because I believe in it. But I’m reaching a point where I can’t keep doing all of this for free forever.
That’s where your support comes in.
Money raised here will help me:
• continue releasing and promoting these songs
• build out merchandise for the project
• begin setting up stands at fairs, festivals, and events across West Virginia
• grow the relief fund into something real and lasting
• create a path for this music to directly support West Virginia first responders
This is not just about music.
This is about building something real for the people who serve our communities every day.
If you believe in what I’m building, any donation helps. If you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser, streaming the music, buying merch, and supporting the page all make a difference too.
Thank you to everybody who has supported Cecil Odell Music and The Sound of the West Virginia Line so far. We’re building something real here, and I truly appreciate every person helping me carry it forward.
