Hello. I am Noha Hatem Al-Shanti, 28 years old, married with one child. I will narrate to you three stories:
The first is my own story. Since birth, I have suffered from a disability in my left hand due to a birth dislocation. However, I challenged this disability and excelled in my studies, eventually earning a Master's degree in Social Work. During that time, I worked on establishing and participating in numerous community initiatives that covered various societal aspects for different groups in society. I also worked as a social and psychological specialist in many institutions and hospitals. Now, I am seeking a scholarship to pursue a Ph.D. degree.
The second story is about my child, Amr, who is two years old. I struggled greatly until he came into this world. I conceived him through IVF (In Vitro Fertilization). He suffers from incomplete throat muscles, often experiencing choking and difficulty breathing, as well as sensitivity to smells and smoke.
The third story is about the war. Before it, I had a small house filled with details, overflowing with love and tenderness. As the bombing intensified around our home, my family and I were forced to evacuate for the first time, hoping to return after a day or two. However, the smoke and dust from the bombings affected my child's breathing, exacerbating the health problem mentioned earlier. So, we were forced to evacuate again, but this time to Rafah City near the Egyptian border. My husband was injured, and I almost lost my child. We suffered greatly due to my disability and faced numerous diseases. Currently, we are enduring the harshness of displacement, both in terms of living conditions and mentally.
Unfortunately, I also lost my home. It was robbed and then burned, leaving nothing but ashes. It's as if the beautiful memories and sweet moments have turned to scattered ashes, mirroring our present and future. Since war shows no mercy and staying in its area is unbearable, with death looming at any moment, my family and I have decided to leave Gaza to save ourselves and provide a calm and peaceful environment for my child. Starting a new life, but unfortunately, our situation and luck require a financial amount beyond our means. I turn to you to help me and my family gather this amount. Thank you very much for your consideration and gratitude.
