Woman Arise is pleased to announce that it is participating in this year’s Great Manchester’s 10km Run on Sunday 26th of May 2024, to raise 1,500 for 2 causes. These are ongoing causes that Woman Arise has been involved in as part of their women and youth empowerment objectives.
Details of the projects
a. Area 25 Maternity Clinic
The clinic provides maternity and ante and post-natal services to an estimated seven hundred women in a month. This translates to the provision of maternity services to about 8,000 women a year. The donations from the fundraising will contribute to the procurement of medical equipment for Area 25 Maternity Clinic in Lilongwe, thereby, alleviating some of the problems that the clinic experiences.
b. Thithimila Primary School.
The school is situated in the remotest area of Kasungu District and has a high number of Orphans and Vulnerable pupils. The donations from the fundraising will procure learning materials for the OVCs at the school. Overall, in Malawi, there are over 1.8 million orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) (National Plan of Action for Vulnerable Children 2015-2019). Our donation will therefore help the vulnerable pupils to access learning material for their education.
We, therefore, urge you to make a generous donation so that we can help the two groups above.
An Independent Auditor will audit all donations.
