3/1/26 Update from Melodie!
Weston’s off IV pain meds. He’s eating good and moving around well. IF the surgeons are happy with the condition of his burns on Tuesday we should be able to go home Wednesday. If not, he will have to stay and have another OR visit. We will have to come back every Wednesday for his burns to be evaluated. Keep Praying!

2/26/26 Update. Landed in Gainesville around 3AM. Afternoon visit with surgeon was positive. There was some discussion about possible skin grafting, but at this time it looks like he won’t have to have that! Thank God! Therapy will start within the next couple of days and they are still unsure of a discharge date. Thank you for all of the prayers and donations! Please keep them coming!

On 2/24/26 13 year old Weston’s life took an unexpected turn. His Dad’s house caught on fire and he was flown to Mobile to their burn center with first and second degree burns to his face, arms, and hands. Today (2/25/26) after his scraping, his mother received word that the burns were too extensive for their expertise in Mobile and he will be transferred to Shands in Gainesville. Gainesville is 4 hours from their home, whereas Mobile was roughly 2 hours.

With this tragic accident will come unexpected medical bills, food, travel (gas) and lodging expenses for his mom who will be out of work for an unknown amount of time. When I was talking to her earlier checking in, I asked if she would have to stay in Gainesville the entire time and her response was, “I am not leaving him”.

Weston is an active teenager who enjoys sports, video games, and hunting. This boy LOVES his momma and HE is her WORLD. Any donation can help ease the stress and worry of outside stressors while dealing with this process. If you cannot afford to donate and this has reached you please pray for Weston and Melodie (his mom) for strength, peace, and healing! Weston has a long healing journey ahead of him.

His mother has asked I do not use any burn photos- so instead I included some happy ones, along with photos from the news article of the home.
