Support Weston Woods FIGHT against cancer

Donation protected
We have set up this page as a way to allow friends and family to donate to costs surrounding the battle we are about to take on with and on behalf of Weston Woods.

Weston Woods is 14 years old. Wes is the coolest, sweetest, funniest, most genuine kid you will meet! We were devastated to learn this week that he has a tumor called an Ependymoma. It’s a grade 3 tumor, which means it is cancerous and it is aggressive. These are difficult to treat, but the team at Nationwide Children’s has a good plan in place to begin our fight. They will begin with a removal on Friday 1/31/25 then will follow a couple weeks later with radiation treatments every day M-F for minimum of 6 weeks. We will reevaluate at that point and see if chemotherapy will be required. This combo of surgery then radiation has the best outcomes and these types of tumors have been cured in other patients.

Wes is currently able to communicate through yes/no responses but has a breathing tube preventing him from communicating with us further. He is currently heavily sedated to lessen the pain he is experiencing from the tumor. He has a large amount of swelling that stemmed from the biopsy, that is making movements difficult from the neck down.

This is going to be a long battle, but a battle we are all up for! We will fight until there is no more fighting to do! As you can imagine there will be large amounts of travel to accommodate, loss of time at work for Trevor and Beth, treatment needs, medical costs, specialized care, living expenses and other costs to be covered in order to help lessen the burden on the family. In addition we will try to keep a normal routine for Weston’s little sister, 9 year old Corynne, which will require more travel to keep her at school and involved as much as possible in sports and hobbies.

We thank you for anything you can donate to help us. As I said before, this is going to be a long battle. Anything you can donate will help us meet the goal of a long, healthy, and thriving life for Weston!

We also humbly ask you to please continue praying for strength and healing for Weston, his team of medical staff and our family.
