I am writing as part of the Byram Hills Global Scholars Program, a three-year leadership and global competence program that teaches students how to effect meaningful change in their community. This holiday season, our senior class is leading a school-wide effort to support families right here in Westchester.
Global Scholars students have previously partnered with the Mt. Kisco Child Care Center through their Changemaker Projects. MKCCC serves families just ten minutes from our school, families who work incredibly hard but still struggle to meet basic needs, especially during the holidays.
This year, the Center asked Global Scholars to step in and help ensure every family feels cared for and supported.
To do this, we’ve launched a GoFundMe to provide each sponsored family with:
- $150 in gift cards so parents can personally choose meaningful gifts for their children.
- $150 ShopRite gift cards so families can purchase the ingredients they need for a holiday meal that honors their own cultural traditions.
Our goal is straightforward: to support as many families as possible.
Every donation—big or small—directly impacts a local family.
If you’re able, please consider donating and sharing our GoFundMe link with others, including on social media. Spreading the word is just as important as making a donation. Any amount is truly appreciated, and together we can help brighten the season for families in our community who could use extra support. Thank you so much for your generosity and for helping us make a difference. Wishing you and your loved ones a warm and joyful holiday season.
With gratitude,
Charlotte Sanders, Dani Goldman, Sophia Montenegro, Taylor Herman, Angelina Vataj, Tyler Friberg , Chase Rodriguez, Jadyn Ingwer, and Amelia Wilt Peterson
