Help us make Camp Amaras2025 a reality for the children of Shirak and Artsakh
We Are Gyumri is preparing to bring back its most meaningful summer tradition: Camp Amaras. This year, over 170 children and teens from Gyumri and nearby villages will come together for a week of joy, healing, and connection. More than 20 percent of our campers are children from Artsakh who were displaced after the 2023 handover and are now trying to rebuild their lives in Gyumri.
Camp Amaras2025 is not just a summer camp. It’s a lifeline. A space where children rediscover a sense of belonging and pride in who they are. Named after the historic monastery in Artsakh where Mesrop Mashtots founded the first Armenian school, Camp Amaras2025 is rooted in the spirit of resilience and hope. It invites every child to remember where they come from and believe in where they’re going.
The camp will run in two sessions: July 14 to 19 for children aged 8 to 11, and July 21 to 26 for youth aged 12 to 16. Each day will be filled with cultural lessons, music and dance, nature hikes, creative workshops, and the kind of friendships that stay with you forever.
But we cannot do this alone.
To keep Camp Amaras2025 completely free for every child, especially those who have lost their homes, we are asking for your help. Your support provides meals, transportation, supplies, and the safe, loving environment these children need.
Camp Amaras2025 is more than a program. It is a gift of hope. A place where children can smile again, feel proud of their identity, and begin to dream about the future.
