Hello Washburn University Community and Beyond!
We are students from Washburn University in Social Class in the United States (SO-310) who are fundraising for our 7th annual diaper drive. Diapers are a large need in our community that is often overlooked.
1 in 2 U.S. families struggle with diaper need. Without clean diapers, babies are exposed to toxic shock syndrome; mothers are at risk of increased maternal depression, and parents are unable to access childcare.
Our goal is to raise funds and collect diapers that will be donated to local families. This project allows us to move beyond classroom discussion and take meaningful action to support those affected by economic inequality in our own community.
We invite students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members to support our efforts. Any donation, big or small, helps make a difference. All funds raised go to supporting this initiative though our local Community Action Inc. https://www.wefightpoverty.org/
