Support Volunteers Helping Disabled Veterans
Donation protected
We have a small group of volunteers that donate our time, efforts and materials to help disabled veterans, their widows or widowers, seniors, first responders, nurses and teachers in need with small tasks and repairs that they cannot afford to pay for.
One of the small but constant tasks we are able to help with is trimming up fallen trees after storms or high winds to clear walk paths so these great folks that are usually not able to get around to get out of their homes, into their car or get those limbs ready for city pickup. It’s just one of many services we provide without cost. It is however a surprisingly common request.
we had a great, albeit 30 yr old professional chainsaw that sadly is now gone thanks to a bad actor seeking a quick item to take. PRAY FOR THAT PERSON!
we are trying to replace it. A current model similar to the one we lost is a STHIL MS 261 C-M. It’s going to run us about $780 with tax. It’s not as powerful as the one we lost. Those are up to $1,500. But, if we can get back to cutting when asked we can at least help even if it’s not going to be as easily as before.
we had many very kind and thoughtful individuals who suggested very inexpensive plug in or battery powered units. Ones that are basically a hedge trimmer with a chain instead of a shear blade. They are fine. But they are not powerful to hold up to the needs our work will subject them to.
We also tried to find a professional STHIL saw used. The problem is these saws are so good that they are held on by professionals until they are completely worn out or so old parts aren’t available. All the units we found were just polished up, shiny worn out junk.
If you can appreciate our dedication to helping the disabled and elderly who have no ability to tend to their needs, please help us to help others.
Blessings to all of you for considering this cause. It is a joy that so many folks share our wish to help. We had so many nice folks including a nice senior named Jerry that gave us the idea of attempting a Go Fund Me. It would be a blessing if it works.
