Support Vivian's Vietnam Service Journey

Dear family and friends,

I’m excited to share with you an opportunity I have to participate on a service project with the Alternative Breaks program at Cal Poly SLO early in my summer break this June. We are going to Vietnam on a goodwill tour and service trip. We will be working with an amazing organization there called Peacework, which helps communities address their needs in empowering ways all over the world.

Our project will include the following:

· Serve in an agrarian village school on English conversation and health education

· Work on a school mural project

· Address issues of sustainable agriculture and climate action in an agrarian village

· Earn the Global Leadership certificate.

This project is a wonderful opportunity for me to make meaning out of my learning outside the classroom, give back to those in need of assistance, and delve into a rich intercultural experience. Moreover, it is an opportunity to connect with my roots and facilitate the furthering of my education within social work and the application of psychology.
