From Viv:
“As you may have heard, I was in a major car accident on Thursday, July 11th. I am lucky to be alive to even write this and it’s not hyperbole to say that based on the crash, my odds of dying or ending up permanently disabled were higher than making it out with a path to recovery where I hope to be able to walk again unassisted down the line. As a self employed, LGBTQ woman winemaker, things have already been so challenging this year. This accident, which totaled my car, fractured and dislocated my hip, and fractured 3 bones in my right hand leaves me unable to work at all during a time when medical bills are piling up. I was hospitalized for 6 days after having to be transported via ambulance to Peacehealth SW WA medical center, and during that time I had to have multiple rounds of imaging and diagnostics run in addition to the invasive but necessary surgery on my right hip. I know that it’s so tough for all of us right now but any help makes a huge difference and helps offset the huge burden of skyrocketing medical costs that we don’t even have the full scope of yet. Even with insurance, we expect to be in medical debt in the neighborhood of tens of thousands of dollars when it’s all said and done. Any contribution will make such a difference for us and we are so deeply grateful for the support.
With love and gratitude,
Viv Kennedy"
