Greetings from Guatemala City! We want to thank you in advance for your time and interest in this critically important fundraiser. Our families living in the Guatemala municipal dumpsite community are desperate for your help as we have suffered a lot of damages from the torrential rains this summer.

Our Community Outreach Center has suffered from water damage over the past three months. The rains have permeated the roof and ceiling, which has ruined the wiring and drywall. And the first floor has now been flooded multiple times and we are forced to make some major repairs. We have had a couple of contractors look over the damage, along with the drainage nearest to the first floor, and they have told us the repairs will be $5,400.00USD.

Since opening the Community Outreach Center, we have provided 19,400 hot meals annually to our kids. And we have averaged over 120 students each year enrolled in the elementary school. So as you can see, we need to make these repairs as the Community Center, as it has become a vital institution for our wonderful families, and its impact has been so very positive across generations.

Please consider partnering with us as we continue to help guide these beautiful families out of the shadows, and to break the generational curses of such extreme material poverty and hopelessness. We have been blessed to have learned so much over the past dozen years of walking alongside these incredible brothers and sisters. Damaris and I have been able to see the true strength contained within the human spirit as revealed through their daily struggles. Likewise, we have seen that a person can live without so much, and on such a small amount of food and under the harshest of conditions. Yet, a person cannot live without hope. And it has been through the Community Outreach Center, that our families encountered hope. Many of them have come to know Christ Jesus, to truly and deeply, come to know that our only hope is found through His forgiveness and mercy. They have also come to feel that they have worth and that they are each important to the human story. Although they live and work within a giant dumpsite, they are not trash and that the Lord loves them. They are seeing this each day they come to the Center. So while the repairs are expensive, we believe that not making them will be far more costly to the very families who can least afford it.
